Dr. Paul Elliot Bernheim
Dr. Paul Bernheim is a general and cosmetic dentist who has been in practice for over 35 years. He currently treats patients of all ages, from infants to seniors, at Open Smile Dental PC in Jamaica, NY, and Hillside Family Dental in Hollis, NY. Professional Profile Education: He completed his undergraduate studies at Yeshiva University (1976) and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from the New York University College of Dentistry in 1982. Clinical Expertise: Dr. Bernheim is proficient in all phases of general and cosmetic dentistry, including crowns, bridges, and tooth extractions. He has also been certified in Botox and facial fillers since 2014. Care Philosophy: He emphasizes a partnership-based approach, taking time to explain conditions and collaborate with patients on personalized treatment plans. Personal Interests: Outside of his practice, Dr. Bernheim enjoys reading, traveling, and participating in local charity and volunteer work
Natan Katanov
Natan Katanov, DDS, is an experienced root canal dentist at Open Smile Dental in the Jamaoca neighborhood of Queens, NY. A member of the American Dental Association, Dr. Katanov has a caring demeanor and isn’t afraid of a challenge. One of his many professional attributes is a positive attitude with every patient to make the dental experience as pleasant as possible. Dr. Katanov started his dental career in 2016 at the Touro College of Dental Medicine, located at the New York Medical College. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2020. He completed his general practice residency at NYCHHC Harlem Hospital in New York City. During his rotation, he received training in oral surgery and general anesthesia for wisdom teeth extractions. Dr. Katanov also received more training for other types of general dentistry, including root canal treatment, dental crowns, bridges, and veneers. Another part of his training focused on simple and complicated tooth extractions, along with osseous surgery and dental bone grafting.
Dr. Samer Chahine
Dr. Samer Chahine, DMD, is an Ivy League-educated dentist who transitioned from an engineering background to clinical practice. He earned his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where he received the Dean’s Scholarship. In addition to leading his practice at Open Smile Dental, he serves as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at the NYU College of Dentistry. Known for his focus on "painless" care, he specializes in general and cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, and restorative treatments.
Dr. Nora Shokrian
Dr. Nora Shokrian, DDS, is a licensed general and cosmetic dentist based in New York City. Professional Background Education: Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the NYU College of Dentistry (2018–2022). Clinical Experience: Professional experience at the University Hospital at Stony Brook. Current Practice: Dr. Shokrian currently practices at Open Smile Dental, where she provides restorative, emergency, and cosmetic dental services. Clinical Focus Her work primarily involves: General Dentistry: Routine care, fillings, and oral health diagnostics. Cosmetic Services: Enhancing dental aesthetics for patients in the New York area.

Dr. Wajidul Hussain is a dedicated general and cosmetic dentist based in Queens. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Hunter College before receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) as part of the inaugural class at the Touro College of Dental Medicine. Dr. Hussain’s practice philosophy focuses on a "patient-first" approach, emphasizing education and collaboration to empower patients in their treatment decisions. Dr. Seth Serrano
Dr. Seth Serrano As a general dentist and proud NYU College of Dentistry alumnus, I currently serve as a Clinical Adjunct Professor, guiding the next generation of clinicians within the same academic community that shaped my own career. My professional focus centers on comprehensive treatment planning and restorative dentistry, with specialized experience in digital workflows and interdisciplinary care. Whether I am performing complex prosthodontic procedures or providing immediate emergency care, my approach is rooted in patient education and precision. Driven by a passion for mentorship and clinical excellence, I am dedicated to bridging the gap between academic theory and high-level private practice to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
